What was the motivation for creating the website?
The inspiration behind this website was to help my dad. I think a lot of people can relate to having a family member who struggles with technology, and my dad is no exception. He often faces difficulties with everday computer tasks, and would call me multiple times a week for help. As much as I want to assist, my busy work schedule and other commitments made it increasingly difficult to be available to help.
So, I thought, why not just automate the whole thing using AI? That's how the idea for this website was created. Making tech help easy and accessible for my dad - and for anyone else facing similar tech challenges.
Who created the website?
The website has been created entirely by myself as a solo project, including all aspects of web development, UX/UI design, and graphic design, and is completely self-funded without any external financial backing.

How is personal data handled?
My service relies on OpenAI's and Anthropic's technologies to function:
- Voice to Text Transcription: OpenAI's Whisper model converts your spoken words into text.
- AI-Driven Responses: Your transcribed text is then processed by Anthropic's newest Claude 3.5 Sonnet model (released October 22nd 2024) to generate answers.
Data Privacy and Storage:- No Personal Data Storage: My service does not store or use your personal data for any purposes, such as model training. All data processing occurs in real-time, solely to process your requests.
- Data Processing: The data is sent to OpenAI and Anthropic (via so-called APIs, which are tools by OpenAI and Anthropic that accept your data and generate the corresponding answers โ either transcribed text or AI-driven responses โ which are then sent back to me).
OpenAI and Anthropic do not use inputs or outputs to their APIs to train their models. This ensures your interactions remain private and are not used to enhance the models.

- International Data Transfers: Please note, particularly for my European customers, that by using my service, your data is transferred to OpenAI servers located in the United States. What does my subscription include?
When you sign up for helpmee.ai, you're provided with your personal AI-tech assistant, specifically crafted to address your technical and computer-related questions (although it's versatile enough to discuss any topic you're interested in).
Each subscription plan offers a set amount of monthly interaction time with your AI, enabling you to seek tailored advice and solutions to your tech challenges at your convenience.
Why isn't helpmee.ai completely free?
AI models, especially when processing images, are quite expensive to run. The free plan allows users to tackle occasional tech issues for free, but for more frequent use, I need to charge money to cover my costs. This helps me keep the service running while ensuring high-quality tech support for everyone.
Does it work for both macOS and Windows?
Yes, the service works for both macOS and Windows operating systems. The AI will provide instructions, such as keyboard shortcuts and other relevant tips, based on the operating system you are using.
